Love dogs? Get paid to get better at it.
You're the person who stops to say hi to every dog on the sidewalk. You want a job where that counts for something, and where you keep learning. Hot Diggity Dog Resort is a family-owned dog care business in Escondido, open since 2012. Here you'll get real training, real responsibility, and real respect, in a place built by a Master Groomer and animal behavior specialist.

If you love dogs and want to get better at working with them, you'll fit right in. Take a look inside first. Then check out the roles below and picture yourself here.
Four things you'll notice on day one.
If you've worked at a chain daycare, a pet store grooming counter, or a busy kennel, you know how it goes: too many dogs, not enough training, and nobody who notices when you do it right. Here's what's different.
You'll be trained, not thrown in
You'll be trained to Penny's standards. You'll learn how to read dogs, how to handle them safely, and how we take care of our clients. Continuous learning is part of the job.
You'll work for the owners
No corporate office three states away. Penny and David own and run Hot Diggity, and Penny is a Master Groomer, Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA), and Certified Animal Behaviorist.
The standards protect you
No more than 15 dogs per staff member in daycare. Rest periods built into every play day. No dogs with a history of biting or aggression in daycare or boarding. These rules keep the dogs safe. They keep you safe too.
There's room to grow
Bathers/Brushers, once certified, can move into apprenticeship training as a Groomer/Stylist. We invest in our people because we want them to stay, and grow with us.

Meet the team

We hire for character. We train for craft.
The best dog handlers and groomers aren't always the most experienced on day one. They're the ones with the right instincts: patience, a good eye, calm under pressure, real respect for animals, and a willingness to learn.
We can teach technique. We can't teach how someone treats a frightened dog when nobody's watching. So we hire people who'd treat the dogs the way we would. And we try to treat our team the same way.

Want to love what you do?
Picture going home tired, covered in a little dog hair, and knowing a nervous pup had a better day because you were there. If that sounds like the job you've been looking for, send us your application. Questions about a role? Call (760) 745-9900.
