A fresh, happy dog. And a groom they don't dread.
You want your dog to come home clean, soft, and looking great. You also want them to be okay with how they got there. Our groomers are trained to the standards of Master Groomer and Certified Animal Behaviorist Penny DiLoreto, so your dog is handled gently and patiently, the whole way through. Even dogs other groomers find difficult.

Does your dog shake at the sight of the grooming table?
We go at their pace. Nobody's rushing here.
You're not just asking for a haircut. You're asking, "Will they be gentle?"
Maybe your dog came home from a groom once looking great but acting shaken. Or they plant their feet at the door. That's hard to watch, and it makes every appointment feel like something to get through.
Here's what's different. Most groomers learn technique. Penny learned technique and how dogs feel about being handled, and that's the standard our groomers are trained to. So we notice the small stress signals, like a lip lick or a tucked tail. And we slow down when a dog needs it. We're proud that Escondido voted us Best of Escondido 2025 for pet groomers.

Handled with understanding
Nervous dogs, wiggly puppies, stiff seniors, and dogs with a bad grooming memory. We read their body language and change how we work to suit them.
Every groomer trained to Penny's standards
Whichever groomer your dog sees, you get the same gentle handling and the same care.
Professional products only
Shampoos, conditioners, and coat care picked for your dog's skin and coat. Nothing with toluene, butyl acetate, or ethyl acetate.
We ask first, every time
Every haircut starts with a quick chat about the look you want, and anything we should know about your dog that day. Sore hip? New lump? Tell us.
Every coat type
Single, double, curly, or wire. Hand scissoring and hand stripping when the style calls for it.
A second set of eyes
Teeth brushing, ear cleaning, and nail care come with every full-service package. Groomers see a lot up close, so if we notice something a vet should look at, we'll tell you.

Luxury Spa
A gentle wash with a shampoo suited to your dog's skin and coat, a nourishing conditioner, and a thorough rinse. Then a full brush-out and blow dry, teeth brushing, ear cleaning, nail grinding or clipping, and anal gland expression if needed (dogs over one year). No fur cutting.
Sanitary Trim
Everything in the Luxury Spa, plus a trim of the paw pads, toes, underbelly, inner thighs, and potty areas to keep your dog clean, cut odor, and prevent matting. Most often chosen for double-coated dogs, whose main coat we usually don't cut.
Full Groom
Also called a Puppy Cut, Shave Down, or Summer Cut. We start by talking through the look you want, then give everything in the Luxury Spa plus a nose-to-tail clipper cut to your chosen length, and trim the paws, pads, sanitary area, ears, and tail. Clean Face and Clean Feet can be added. Styles longer than clippers allow need Hand Scissoring, priced separately.
De-Shed
Our multi-step de-shed can reduce shedding by up to 80% by removing loose undercoat. It includes a de-shedding bubble bath and conditioner, high-velocity blow dry, specialized brushing, teeth brushing, ear cleaning, nail grinding, and anal gland expression if needed.
De-Shed + Full Groom
Our complete Full Groom and the multi-step De-Shed in one appointment. Style and coat care together, starting with a consultation about the look you want.
De-Shed + Sanitary Trim
The De-Shed plus a sanitary cut. Ideal for double-coated dogs that need coat care and hygiene without changing the length of the main coat.
Bath Only
Shampoo, rinse, and dry. Good between full appointments, or after they found the one mud puddle at the park.
Add-ons and à la carte
Add any of these to a groom, or book some on their own.
Poodles, Doodles, and Bichons: curly coats take longer to bathe, dry, and brush out, so they have their own price tier. You'll see it in the tables below.
Here's what it costs. No surprises.
Grooming prices depend on your dog's weight and coat, so find their size and coat type below. Every haircut, sanitary trim, and de-shed includes the Luxury Spa bath, so you're never paying extra for the basics.

From shaggy to sharp.
Here's what a groom looks like, start to finish. Our dryers have variable speed, so we can go soft around the face and ears, and easy on puppies and dogs who aren't fans of the noise.
The goal isn't just a good-looking dog. It's a dog who hops off the table relaxed, and doesn't mind coming back next time.

Want to see the whole thing? Here's Marshmellow, from shaggy arrival to fresh finish.

Gentle drying
Variable-speed dryers, turned down when a dog needs it.

Careful face work
Trims and mat removal close to the eyes, with steady hands and the right tools.

Happy endings
Clean, fluffy, and ready for their close-up.
Don't take our word for it. Take theirs.
This is definitely our new groomer. I called a few different places but with how helpful and nice Maggie was on the phone she had me sold.
Before you book.
Why do nails matter so much?
Lots of people skip nail trims at home because they're afraid of hurting their dog. We understand. But overgrown nails cost traction, so dogs slip and can get hurt, and some nails grow in and become painful or infected. Our bathers and groomers have the right tools and are trained to trim nails while keeping your dog as relaxed as possible. We use a Dremel and go as short as we safely can without reaching the quick. More on nail care.
My dog has mats near the eyes. Can you help?
Yes. Dust and debris trapped around the eyes can irritate them, and our vet tells us some eye problems can start with that build-up. Mats near the eyes are hard, even scary, to deal with at home. You don't have to. Our groomers have the technique and the tools to remove mats anywhere in the coat, including close to the eyes.
Which breeds do you groom?
All breeds and every coat type. We take special care with double-coated breeds, such as Golden and Labrador Retrievers, German and Australian Shepherds, Huskies and Malamutes, Bernese Mountain Dogs, Great Pyrenees, Border Collies, Corgis, Samoyeds, Pomeranians, Shih Tzus, and many terriers. Poodles, Doodles, Bichons, and wire-coated breeds are welcome too.
How often should my dog be de-shedded?
A de-shed is a good idea during heavy shedding seasons, before a special event at home, or before the holidays. We're happy to suggest a schedule for your dog's coat. Read about de-shedding.
Do you brush teeth?
Yes. Teeth brushing with an enzymatic, dog-friendly toothpaste is part of every full-service package and can be added to any visit. For a professional cleaning, see our vet days with Dr. Janet Moston, DVM.
When is the salon open?
Monday through Saturday, 6:30 am to 6:00 pm. Please pick up by 5:45 pm. The salon is closed Sundays and on major holidays.
Your dog deserves a groomer who understands them.
Picture it: you pick up your dog, and they trot out soft, fluffy, and happy to see you, not shaking. A few days later, someone at the dog park asks who does their hair. Book online or call us at (760) 745-9900. New clients get 10% off their first service.
