We can't wait to meet your dog. Getting started is easy.
Three quick steps and your dog is in. This page has everything you need: how to get set up, what to bring, the policies worth knowing, and what happens at your dog's Play Date. New clients get 10% off their first service.

Three steps from "interested" to "in."
- 1
Create your account and add your dog
Sign up online, add your dog, upload current Rabies, DHPP (Distemper-Parvo), and Bordetella records, and sign the waiver. Everything has to be on file before the first visit. Join our newsletter too, and we'll send you 10% off your first service.
- 2
Book the Play Date
Our Temperament Assessment is a full daycare day at the regular daycare rate. Drop off by 10:00 am (as early as 6:30) and pick up no earlier than 3:00 pm (as late as closing).
- 3
Book anything, anytime
Once your dog is approved, book boarding, daycare, and grooming online whenever you like. Then go live your life, and peek in on the webcams when you miss them.
Just here for grooming? You can book a groom online without a Play Date.
Not a test. A getting-to-know-you.
If you're a little nervous about your dog's first day, that's normal. Most of our families were too. The Play Date is how we make sure it goes well.
It keeps every dog in the building safe, and it's how we learn who your dog is. We watch how they meet new dogs and people, how they play, how they handle treats and toys around others, and what helps them settle.
We introduce dogs slowly, one at a time and on leash first. We rate interactions green, yellow, or red, and you get a written report at the end. If things aren't going well, we'll call you early so you can pick up.
It's required before daycare or boarding, and again if your dog has been away for six months or more.

What to bring.
Vaccination records
Current Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella, uploaded to your account before the first visit.
Their regular food
For overnight stays, bring enough food, labeled. Dogs do best on what they're used to. If we supply the food, a daily food fee applies.
Medications
Clearly labeled, with dosage instructions. Add the details to your dog's food and medication form.
A comfort item
A favorite toy or small blanket helps longer-stay dogs feel at home.
A few policies worth knowing.
Please pick up by 5:45 pm
We're open Monday–Saturday, 6:30 am – 6:00 pm, and we close at 6. On Sundays and holidays, daycare and grooming are closed; boarding check-in and check-out are by appointment only, at 10 am or 4 pm.
Spay/neuter and temperament
For daycare and boarding, dogs must be spayed or neutered before 8 months of age. Dogs with a history of biting or aggression can't attend daycare or board.
Bully breeds
We love all dogs, but our insurance doesn't allow bully breeds in boarding or daycare. Grooming and training are welcome.
Book holidays early
Thanksgiving and Christmas stays need the holiday minimum, and a holiday fee applies. The grooming salon is closed on major holidays.
Watch from anywhere
Clients can watch daycare and boarding on our webcams. Your login details are in your account after you sign up.
Discounts
New clients get 10% off the first service. Active and retired military and first responders get 10% off everything. And if a friend sent you, you both get 10% off.
Everything you need, in one place.

Hear it from our clients.
What keeps me coming back is their authentic love for the dogs. It's not just because they want your business - it's genuine. My dog was kicked out of another daycare, but Hot Diggity recognized his personality and worked with him. They make every mom feel good about their dog, no matter how challenging.

Questions new clients ask us.
How do I book daycare or boarding?
Online, once your dog has passed the Play Date. If your dog has been here for daycare or boarding in the past 6 months (and, for boarding, isn't sharing a suite with another family's dog), you can book instantly and pay in full at booking. Otherwise, your booking goes in as a request, and the front desk confirms it. Book daycare or request a boarding stay.
How do I watch my dog on the webcams?
Your webcam login details are in your account. The cameras have their own login, so your website login won't open them.
Why don't you accept bully breeds?
We love all dogs, and we've had wonderful experiences with bully breeds. Several years ago our insurer told us we could no longer have them in boarding or daycare. Grooming and training are fine.
Should I bring my dog's own food and medication?
Yes, please. There are too many brands for us to stock them all, and keeping your dog's routine helps them settle. Fill out the food and medication details before a stay. If we supply the food, a daily food fee applies.
Do you offer a military or first responder discount?
Yes, and thank you for your service. Active and retired military, firefighters, police, EMTs and paramedics, and 911 dispatchers get 10% off all services and products. Upload a photo of your ID in your account, and the front desk will approve it.
What vet services do you offer?
Dr. Janet Moston, DVM visits every other Monday for teeth cleaning without general anesthesia, vaccinations at her 5:00 pm clinic, and microchipping. Book a vet visit.
Can Penny train my dog at home?
Yes. Penny offers private in-home training in North San Diego County. She's a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA), a Certified Animal Behaviorist, and an AKC evaluator for Canine Good Citizen and S.T.A.R. Puppy. Ask about training or see our online courses.
What is L.E.E.P.?
Our Life Enrichment Education Program: a 15-minute one-on-one enrichment session during daycare or boarding. Add it by the day, or join the monthly membership if your dog comes regularly.
Sign up. Book the Play Date. You're in.
Picture the end of that first day: your dog trots out tired and happy, and you drive home knowing exactly where they'll stay next time. New clients get 10% off their first service. Questions? Call (760) 745-9900 or email info@hotdiggitydogresort.com. You're always welcome to come in and see the place.
